We bid a fond farewell...
Carl Weir, Director of Multi-Domain Systems, begins his retirement as we head into 2024. Carl has been an integral part of BFC since 2016 and has filled many roles over his almost 8 years of service, completing both technical and project management work in cybersecurity, autonomy, and novel object detection.
His work with Boston Fusion follows an impressive career at Lockheed Martin, where for over 28 years Carl pursued research in natural language processing and quantum computing.
His versatility as a “renaissance man” of the Defense Industry made him a tremendous asset to BFC.
Carl says what he will miss most is working with talented researchers to do exciting and valuable work for his country. While he is excited to spend a few months relaxing with his dog Petrus and wife Katherine, he expects it will not be long before the excitement of the industry draws him back into part-time R&D consulting.
The Boston Fusion team is so grateful to have benefited from Carl’s mentorship and guidance over the years.
