Matthew Marshall, Director of Sentient Systems
Matthew is responsible for all aspects of proposal and project management, strategic planning, and technology portfolio and business development for Boston Fusion’s Sentient Systems Directorate, encompassing the Sensors and Fusion, and Socio-behavioral analytics pillars.
Matthew has worked in a variety of different domains focusing on developing the next generation of technologies. At Radiation Monitoring Devices he refined commercial processes and worked to transition new and improved radiation detection materials into the hands of customers at the Department of Energy and Department of Defense.
Matthew holds a B.ASc in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, as well as a D.Phil (Doctorate) in Materials from Oxford University. His doctoral research focused on understanding the physics of surfaces using scanning tunnelling microscopy. Matthew also worked as a postdoctoral associate at Yale University developing new materials for novel electronic devices beyond silicon. Matthew’s leadership style emphasizes the growth that comes from tackling hard problems with an awesome group of teammates. He prioritizes communication and believes in removing obstacles so the team can do great things.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys vegetable gardening with his family, slowly undertaking various household projects and trying out new recipes.
